The Pirozzi Lex team attended the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA) 2026 in Madrid from 12 to 15 April, one of the leading global gatherings for the international arbitration community.
The week provided a valuable opportunity to engage with practitioners from a wide range of jurisdictions, in a setting that remains both highly international and notably close-knit.
Alongside the main programme, a rich calendar of side events created space for more direct and informal exchanges. The welcome cocktails hosted by 20 Essex set the tone at the outset, followed by a series of events throughout the week, including the gathering hosted by Three Crowns and the reception organised by Herbert Smith Freehills at their Madrid office, which featured a traditional Spanish dance performance.
Further highlights included the reception and private exhibition hosted by Debevoise & Plimpton at the Museo del Prado, as well as the electricity-focused panel organised by Peters & Peters and GNCI Law, and the roundtable discussion hosted by DAC Beachcroft, each contributing to a broader exchange of perspectives on current developments in the field.

The Disputes Boutique Lawyers lunch at Casa Suecia, organised by Keidan Harrison LLP, Ayuela Jiménez and Lemstra Van der Korst, provided an additional opportunity for boutique law firms to meet in a more informal setting, encouraging closer connections and dialogue.
The event confirmed ICCA’s central role as a key forum for the international arbitration community and as a valuable platform for professional exchange.
