Our Firm is proud to announce its role as the organizer of the upcoming International Negotiation Competition (INC) set to take place at Lumsa from July the 6th to the 8th, 2023 on Via di Porta Castello n. 44 in Rome, Italy.

This prestigious event brings together teams from around the world to compete in a challenging and immersive negotiation experience.

The INC, an academic and experiential competition, features teams engaging in practical business cases with the goal of reaching mutually beneficial agreements. Participants represent clients or parties involved in a fictional transaction or dispute, showcasing their negotiation skills before a distinguished panel of global academics, legal experts, and business professionals.

To kick off the competition, a masterclass will be organized in the morning of the 6th of June [9:45 am], featuring a series of panel discussions focused on various negotiation-related topics. Esteemed practitioners and industry experts will share valuable insights and practical knowledge, providing a rich learning experience for participants. Following each masterclass presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to engage in in-depth discussions during Q&A sessions with the speakers, fostering an interactive and collaborative environment.

The competition itself comprises three rounds per team, with each case provided by the organizing committee. The entire competition is conducted in English, and teams receive the necessary simulations two weeks prior to the event. Each team is provided with general information accessible to all participants, as well as confidential information known only to the team representing a specific side.

The judges, experts in negotiation, evaluate the reasonableness of each team’s interpretation and determine if any material self-serving facts have been invented or inferred.

The competition format includes a pre-negotiation session, a negotiation session, a reflection period, and a comment period during which judges provide valuable feedback to the teams. Participants are evaluated based on performance standards and criteria, with the highest-scoring team being declared the winner at the conclusion of the two rounds.

It promises to be an unforgettable opportunity for participants to enhance their negotiation skills and engage in international exchange.
